- 18 May 2022
We’re thrilled to be welcoming two new restaurants to the Elephant Park community in the next few months. Say hello to Rarebit, arriving soon on Sayer Street, and join us in welcoming Cheeky Chicos – the newest addition to Ash Avenue. Here’s what you can expect from the exciting new additions to Elephant Park!
A brand-new concept from founders of Clapham’s The Rockery, Rarebit in Elephant Park brings together a signature Welsh rarebit dish alongside top quality British meats, fish and cheeses. It’s been described as a modern all-day kitchen and bar, plus it doubles as a grocery store.
Expected to open in June 2022, there will be plenty of space indoors for a meal with the family, and there will be al fresco dining options available, too. Summer feels like the perfect time to welcome Rarebit to Elephant Park.
Come along for a celebration of British cuisine, or peruse the extensive selection of fine wines on offer – of both British and European origin. Either get comfy at a table and enjoy your beverages in the bar, or pick up a bottle to take home.
Co-founders Mark Angell and Will Nias are delighted to be joining the herd at Elephant Park. Here’s what they had to say:
"Elephant Park is such an exciting new community for South London. It has quickly become a destination for world flavours, and now Rarebit will offer something new to the area; the best of British produce in a relaxed and friendly environment."
An eagerly-anticipated Mexican Fusion restaurant and bar, Cheeky Chicos will open later this year, adjacent to Four Quarters with a great view across the park itself. This is the fourth restaurant for the brand, with a menu created by Andrew Lassetter using a blend of locally-sourced and authentic Mexican ingredients. You can expect tacos, tostadas and colourful sharing plates galore!
Designed by CDS Wilman, the Elephant Park Cheeky Chicos interior will take inspiration from its Mexican roots with a colourful combination of brick walls, designer tiling, and tables handmade from reclaimed wood. Cheeky Chicos is known for their strong connection to local community, having worked with London artist Auri and hosted live performances from up-and-coming musicians.
We can’t wait to see what Cheeky Chicos will bring to Elephant Park. Here’s what co-founders Kasparas Azbainis, Dan Edgar, and Ray Cornwell had to say:
"Cheeky Chicos is about bringing a fun, modern take on Mexican cuisine, from brunch to tacos, into a lively bar atmosphere. We cannot wait to introduce this to Elephant Park and be a part of the destination’s emphasis on an international feel from local people."
