In a recent review by the Londonist website, Italian bar Bottles & Battles has been named as a key reason why Elephant and Castle is one of the top places in London to enjoy a night out.
Nestled within Mercato Metropolitano, Bottles & Battles offers a handpicked range of wines from independent producers from all over the world, with a strong focus on Italy.
With Elephant and Castle now named as one of the top five places to end up on a Friday night, this is one pitstop not to miss, according to the Londonist
As well as a generous offering of wine, Bottles & Battles has a selection of indulgent Italian culinary classics, such as cheese and meat platters, and a selection of traditional pasta dishes.
The bar is decorated with wine bottles, echoing the main offering, as well as rustic wooden crates and bare-bulb lighting. As detailed by Londonist, the waiting staff are enthusiastic and knowledgeable, offering reviews and advice on what beverage to enjoy with your bar snack.
This vibrant bar also hosts regular events, such as the recent International Grape Varieties Cultivated in Italy, which took place in February. The ticketed event took guests on a ‘tour’ of the 377 genetically different grape varieties, allowing them to try a selection of unique and exclusive wines as well as cheese, salami and nibbles. Keep an eye out for the next one here.
