Artwork from Pablo Picasso and David Hockney, along with Paul Cézanne and other notable artists, is currently being displayed at The Drawing room, located in Elephant and Castle.
The art exhibition will be showcasing the work until 3rd February and features 200 years of portraits and stunning pieces. As well as historical artists, the exhibition brings together the old and the new with a display from contemporary local artists. Look out for the portraits of residents living and working in the Elephant and Castle area – you might even spot yourself!
Encounters between artists and their subjects is the main theme of the installation, with the exhibition featuring some fascinating hand drawn portraits. Alongside Picasso, Hockney and Cézanne, pieces from historic artist Hepworth are being displayed alongside contemporary work from Lassing and Landy.
The Drawing Room can be visited through the year and hosts a range of exhibitions. A range of contemporary artwork for the local community is also available to view. The gallery is the only public and non-profit gallery in the UK and Europe, making exhibitions, including this one, free, open and accessible to all.
