Summer holiday boredom? Plenty to do in and around Elephant Park
Are your kids climbing the walls with boredom? Are you struggling for ideas to keep them entertained? Then you’ve come to the right place.
As parents, we know you have to be on your toes when it comes to the kids’ time off in the summer holidays.
You can never have enough ideas to keep little minds (and hands) busy.
Try some of the following activities and places for inspiration to keep them entertained and – importantly – you more relaxed!
Live in Elephant & Castle? The Park is the place to be this summer!
Events ranging from live music, theatre, sporting events on the big screen and more. And why not host your own event?!
Founded in 2006, to address a lack of inclusive sports in the capital, the Disability Sports Coach team – mainly volunteers – run sport and physical activity sessions for disabled adults and children in the area.
The charity has recently been given funding from Lendlease and Southwark Council’s Elephant & Castle Community Fund to keep up their great work in the Elephant and Castle and wider Southwark area.
For more information see their website – https://disabilitysportscoach.co.uk.
If you have little bookworms in the house, why not check out the local library?
Temporarily moved to the second floor of The Artworks, Elephant Road, the library is open every day and also hosts regular baby and toddler sessions and ChatterBooks for those aged seven-11 years old. See here for more information.
Also, try here for other ideas for young people over the summer, including:
- A local BMX track;
- A list of adventure playgrounds; and
- A host of art, reading and fitness challenges.
Have a great rest of the summer! And feel free to share pictures of holiday fun in and around Elephant Park to our Twitter account – @ElephantParkLDN
