The clocks have gone forward and we’re all stretching from our winter hibernation into British Summer Time – so we’ve collaborated with the great creative team at Emergency Exit Arts to put on a spring spectacular for all Elephant and Castle residents.
To celebrate the changing of the seasons, growth, change and new life, everyone is welcome to visit a free illuminated garden in Elephant Park.
Emergency Exit Arts presents Illuminated Spring, featuring fire installations, glowing artworks, giant lanterns created with local school Ark Academy, and a host of hidden surprises. Bring your friends, family and neighbours, and wander through this beautiful installation.
Kate Scanlan, events lead at Elephant Park, is excited to see the response from local residents: ‘We’ve worked really hard to create a special experience to “wow” and delight children and adults. It’s a great opportunity to show off the green park space, and bring together the community – so pop down in a couple of weeks and say hi!’
Greenwich-based Emergency Exit Arts began as an artists’ collective in the 1980s, and has evolved into a highly regarded creative outdoor arts company. It hosts inspirational events for communities around the country, and especially with schoolchildren.
