Visit Draper Hall between 28 March and 6 April to experience an immersive reinvention of a Shakespearen classic, Hamlet, performed by Emily Carding.
The award-winning performance by Brite Theater will bring an adaptation of Hamlet to life by turning the performance into an experience. The audience will take on the roles of Hamlet’s friends and family in an attempt to resolve the great questions of life, fully involving themselves in the storyline and characters.
Nominated for several awards at the Prague and Edinburgh Fringe festivals, Hamlet (An Experience) was one of the winners of the Fringe Encore Series and had a successful run at the SoHo Playhouse, off-Broadway, in November 2018.
Founded by Kolbrún Björt Sigfúsdóttir in 2006, Brite Theater is an independent group focused on audience and site-specific work. Previous productions include original dance theatre piece Kjöt (2006), an adaptation of Chekov’s The Seagull (2008), and an original Shakespeare mash-up, My Only Love Sprung from My Only Hate.
The company is currently touring with its multi-award winning production of audience interactive Richard III (a one-woman show) as well as Hamlet (An Experience) and the Prague Fringe New Territories Award-winning (Can This Be) Home.
