Kids can start the week on a creative high – thanks to the Free to Act workshops.

Taking place at the Artworks Elephant, in Elephant & Castle, the free workshops are brought to the modern venue by Blue Elephant Theatre and are held every Monday.

Aimed at five to seven-year-olds, the drama classes include games and confidence-building activities designed to hone children’s performance skills and bring out their hidden potential.

Founded in 1999, Blue Elephant Theatre is known for its eclectic mix of work across the performing arts, from classic dramas to bold new writing. Many notable performances have graced its Camberwell stage, including the first theatrical staging of Mervyn Peake’s Noah’s Ark, his only play for children. The show was shortlisted for an Off West End Award in 2011 for best production for young people.

Children of all abilities are welcome at Free to Act, they just need to have a passion for singing, acting and dance. Free to Act is every Monday at The Trunk, Artworks, Elephant Road SE17 1AY. For more information visit www.blueelephanttheatre.co.uk
