Elephant Park is at an exciting phase in its journey, with plans underway for five very distinct zones across the development – featuring al fresco restaurants and bars, café culture, 11 acres of public green spaces and tree-lined walkways, plus health and fitness hubs and creative co-working spaces.

The Elephant is a diverse, fast-growing part of London – smack bang in the heart of dynamic Southwark and one of the capital’s most exciting neighbourhoods.
More than 23 million people pass through Elephant & Castle tube station each year, with Oxford Circus and King’s Cross less than 15 minutes’ ride away and London Bridge, Blackfriars, Waterloo and Bank all within 10-minute travel via Underground or mainline rail services.
An investment of £300 million is being made to improve public transport and infrastructure across the area, including new community facilities. This will create easy access to the West End, the City, Borough, Southbank and other vibrant parts of the capital, making Zone 1 more accessible than ever.

So what’s coming in the next five years? More than 50 shops, bars, restaurants, health and fitness spaces and community co-working hubs across Elephant Park. This will include dedicated spaces for new local and independent businesses.
These operators, entrepreneurs and creative professionals will be driving new and exciting opportunities for the local economy, as well as creating a host of jobs for local people.
What does the area have to offer?
Walworth Square and Sayer Street
A connected neighbourhood to browse around.
You can expect to see creative independent stores, fresh produce, casual dining, coffee, drinks and more. This part of Elephant Park is already starting to take shape, with Dima Beautiful beauty salon and the Tap In craft beer bar already open. Mercato Metropolitano is also set to open the brand new MM Factory dining and community space here in the coming months.
The established Elephant and Castle High Street
A quick and easy walk from the Tube, Walworth Road is a convenient stop-off for everyday shopping from well-recognised brands, with a number of new retailers opening within the year.
New Kent Road and Chatteris Quarter

This part of Elephant Park will welcome retailers with a health and fitness focus, complemented by collaborative workspaces and creative studios. Co-working and wellbeing are key here – so expect places where you can get fit, feel well, and spend your well-earned “me time”.
