eat, drink & relax
Elephant Park is ideally located in an historic area with an established and diverse local community. It offers access to a buzzing restaurant scene that brings together diverse local cuisines from the far corners of the world. Here, the food is as colourful and expressive as you could wish for. Presentation and flavour pairings reflect a heady mix of global cultures, stretching from Eastern Europe all the way to Latin America
Opening as the first permanent retailer at Elephant Park in 2018, Hej (pronounced Hey) quickly set a high standard for friendly service and incredibly tasty food and coffee.
“Simply, we’re proper coffee geeks. We make coffee with love and care, roasting small batches of beans on site so we can experiment. That does mean first come, first served though; if it’s gone, it’s gone.”
Roasting their own coffee beans means Hej can provide some truly magnificent small batch blends, meaning its strictly first come first service for the finest coffee. The incredible coffee is paired beautifully with a smorgasbord of fresh, healthy food and drink.
Overnight oats for breakfast, and open sandwiches, salads and baguettes for lunch. At night, it’s meatballs, craft beer and sharing plates. Not forgetting our favourite meal – long weekend brunches with a Mimosa and blockbusting flat white.

In an area which is constantly changing, be sure to keep up to date with what’s happening in the surrounding area using the map below.
At Elephant Park, we cultivated the next generation of local cafes, restaurants and businesses in our pop-up retail space for start-up and creative businesses. The Artworks Elephant located on Elephant Road, at the northern end of the Elephant Park site, hosted a variety of delicious street foods, art and craft studios, fashion and more.
Sadly, The Artworks is now closed. Find more information and hear about the good times here.
Lost Rivers Elephant was a pop up entertainment space located next to Artworks Elephant. Constructed from recycled shipping containers this versatile, split level venue hosted live bands, DJs, art shows, comedy nights, urban theatre and unique popups.
As planned, Lost Rivers has now closed as part of the Artworks Elephant community space.
