#1 Get your skates on
If you think you’ve had your fill of ice skating over the past few years, listen up – this is ice skating with a difference. On the rink at Elephant & Castle’s Castle Square, you’ll find bumper cars on ice – oh yes – as well as traditional skating, street food and live DJs. Tickets cost £6.

#2 Start the party
Get yourself and your friends down to the Southbank Winter Festival, where you’ll find festive shows and performances and a winter market serving mulled wine and seasonal treats. And don’t miss Circus 1903, complete with life-sized elephants from the puppet creators of War Horse.

#3 Try a fairytale adventure
Prepare to be wowed as Southwark Park transforms into Alice in Winterland, a unique family lantern experience that tells the story of Alice. This walk-though event uses a trail of lights, along with music and water effects to bring this fairytale adventure to life.

#4 Embrace the cheese
Watch traders compete in the cracking of the parmesan wheel, listen to local choirs and get advice on creating the best festive cheeseboard at Borough Market’s annual Evening of Cheese. Guest chefs will also be doing cookery demonstrations in the glass-fronted demo kitchen.

#5 Time for a tree
Inspired by Narnia, the Elephant Area has been transformed into a winter wonderland, complete with winter-themed drinks (think snowballs, mulled wine and mulled cider) and snowball fighting games and films. And, while you’re there, you can pick your perfect Christmas tree to take home.

#6 Make a cool yule
Ever fancied making your own yule log, but not sure how? Then get yourself down to the Chocolate Yule Log Masterclass at Mercato Metropolitano, where Maurgaux will show you how to wow your friends with this delicious Christmas centrepiece.

#7 Catch a train to Winterville
Winterville returns to Clapham Common once again, with promises of an ice rink, roller disco, the Backyard Cinema, a Christmas market, street feast food stalls and the Spiegeltent – complete with the Chivaree Circus, Lucha Britannia Mexican Wrestling, Rabbit Rabbit Comedy and the Mighty Hoopla’s Christmas Jumpergeddon. #8 Roam around the riverside
The banks of the River Thames are once again transformed into the Christmas by the River market, bursting with homemade gifts, food and drinks – all served from German-style chalets. Enjoy views of Tower Bridge while sipping a festive cocktail or winter warmer – you know you want to!

#9 Football fever
Grab that last-minute gift for football lovers at The Artworks’ Christmas Vintage Football Market. Along with FIFA 19 and Subbuteo free play, there promises to be retro football tops and memorabilia on sale, complete with free wrapping if you need a helping hand.

#10 SKATING WITH A TWIST
For one night only, Elephant & Castle’s ice rink will be transformed into a vibrant Latin American fiesta complete with traditional music, dancing and food. The carnival-themed evening will feature London-based Latin DJ, DJ Cenzio and the Carnaval Del Pueblo dancers. Bumper cars and ice-skating will also be available throughout the evening – there really is something for everyone!
